Kelly Mathieson joined the Digital Asset Holdings, LLC team in June 2016 as Product Manager, focusing initially on the use of the DA Platform for Clearing and Settlement infrastructure and processes.
Prior to this, Kelly spent nearly 29 years in the financial services industry, marked recently by 26 years at JPMorgan Chase and before that, 3 years at Goldman, Sachs. Most recently, Kelly led JPMC's global Collateral Management and Securities Clearing businesses, responsible for over $300mil in revenue, ~$1tril in collateral, hundreds of client relationships and nearly 1mil in daily transaction volume across fixed income and equities markets around the world. Notably, Kelly was a chief architect of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY's Tri-Party Repo Reforms - the post-2008 effort to improve the market model. This work, at JPMC and across the industry, succeeded in creating a transparent and stable operating model for these systemically important processes and eliminating ~$2.7tril in liquidity/credit risk. With this experience, she represented JPMC in key activities for Lehman Brothers, Knight Capital Markets and MF Global default / distress events.
During her JPMC tenure, key roles also included Head of Global Custody Product ($3bil in revenue, 2010-2012), Head of Online Brokerage Product Asset Management (2000-2006) and various product management and marketing roles in Securities Lending, Liquidity Management, Futures & Options Clearing, FX and Commodities Managed Funds (1990-2000). Kelly's experience also includes a number of broad corporate acquisition / sale initiatives, notably the JPMC / Chase Manhattan merger (2000), sale of brokerage services to E*Trade (2005), Corporate Trust / Retail Banking transaction with BNYM (2006) and acquisition of Bear Stearns (2008).
Across these roles, Kelly has had the opportunity to work closely with regulators and industry organizations in the US, UK, EU, Australia and several Asia markets. She is a regular speaker at industry conferences and with the press, and most recently represented prior firms at ISDA, SIFMA, ISLA, RMA, AGC, ISSA, FIA and MFA.
She has been fortunate to receive several industry honors, recently including American Banker's Most Powerful Women in Banking to Watch, Global Custodian and Global Investor Legends and Trade's Financial Trailblazer. Kelly is very active in women's leadership initiatives, serving as President and on the Board of the Financial Women's Association and participating in several microfinance efforts, including the opening of women-led banks in the Dominican Republic. She has an MBA from NYU and a BS from Binghamton State University.
